Infographic chart for comparing Washington Huskies Men’s Basketball team points per possession of the Huskies Offense vs Huskies Defense for each game during the 9-game losing streak.
During their current losing streak, seven of Washington’s nine losses were decided by less than ten points, which suggests the Huskies are not good at finishing games.
Unexpectedly, the variation in relative (point per possession) value of the Huskies’ defensive performance versus the offensive performance of Washington has not affected the game result.
The Huskies lost when their point per possession performance matched their opponent (vs. Arizona State); lost when the Dawgs decidedly outperformed their opponent (at Utah); and, as expected, they lost when outperformed by their opponents.
In other words, the chart illustrates that – despite overall team performance during the game – the Washington Huskies just aren’t good at winning.
The question is how, and when, does Washington learn to win?
